For over 90 years, Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre has offered empowering, supportive programs and services to the community of Little Burgundy in South-West Montreal. As one of the few English Community Centres in Montreal, we offer important services, develop strong partnerships with community members and organizations, and we are always expanding upon our rich history. Stop by the Centre to meet with us and find out what we do!
In a safe environment, we offer parents and children of different backgrounds the opportunity to bond, communicate and grow through the power of play, storytelling, early stimulation, and secure attachment, while always emphasising the building of strong connections with families in the community.
Early Childhood and Families programs at Tyndale help reinforce parental support and stimulate young child development for children aged 0 to 5 years old.
The Children, Youth and Families Department caters to participants from Kindergarten to grade 11 through various programs offered from September to August. Our department prides itself on offering a balance of academic and socio-recreation programming. We truly believe in developing interpersonal skills such as empathy and encourage success with the families we work with.
The Adult Development Department located on des Seigneurs street in Little Burgundy provides various educational and training programs with the aim of developing and strengthening life and work skills among our community members and program participants. We are committed to supporting adults in all aspects of their development and success. One way in which we achieve this, is by countering isolation and providing a sense of community by offering a safe welcoming space where people can drop-in to use the computers, socialize, read the newspaper, and have a snack & coffee.
The Tyndale St-Georges Children's Library has been a cozy and vibrant part of the Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre since 1970. Despite our small size, we see between 9 000 and 10 000 visitors every year!
We're open Monday to Saturday, and each day we offer engaging drop-in activities for elementary-aged children. Children are also free to read at any time and earn points as part of our popular reading program.
Located in the South West of Montreal (five minutes from the downtown core), Little Burgundy is a vibrant community, and a great place to live. We are always working on improving our services, developing stronger partnerships with community members and organizations, and expanding upon our rich history.
